Arsenal legend Tony Adams made his debut appearance on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday evening.

The legendary defender left viewers in stitches with his Arsenal-themed dance.

Wearing ‘ADAMS 6’ on the back of his red waistcoat, he danced to the Pet Shop Boys’ smash hit ‘Go West’ alongside professional dancer Katya Jones after entering the stage on a gold cannon.

There was a rendition of “1-0 to the Arsenal” midway through the performance, while footballs were launched on stage at the end.

Adams also re-enacted his training ground moves that went viral on social media in 2017 during his brief spell in charge of Spanish club Granada.

While viewers loved Adams’ debut dance, Strictly’s judges weren’t as impressed.

The former England international received a total score of 15 points from the four judges - the lowest score of every couple on the opening weekend.

Tony Adams' spell at Granada was a 'nightmare'

Adams hasn’t worked in management since his ill-fated spell with Granada towards the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

The retired centre-back was unable to prevent Andalusian outfit from being relegated, losing all seven of his games in charge.

"It's a nightmare, thank you for putting words in my mouth," Adams said, per the Evening Standard, at the time. "I think I'm going to get another heart attack!

"Working with this group of players isn't easy. But I'm thankful, I just want to say that personally, thankful that I've had the experience. I can't say that I've enjoyed a lot of it, but I'm thankful that I've had the experience.

"It's a tough league. There's not much defending going on in this league, especially in our team. To see goals go in so easily, it breaks my heart. I wish I could have had the team in pre-season, to stop this."

When Tony Adams was mocked by Real Madrid's bench

Adams suffered his heaviest defeat at home to Real Madrid in May 2017. James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata both netted a brace in the 4-0 rout.

And to make matters worse for Adams, the Englishman was mocked by Real Madrid’s bench during the match for his choice of attire.

Footage from El Dia Después showed Karim Benzema pointing at Adams and Madrid’s players chuckling to themselves.

Isco then made Luka Modric laugh when he shouted at Adams: “Waiter! One Coca-Cola, please!”

Brutal. Poor old Tony!

Considering how his spell at Granada panned out, it’s no real surprise that Adams is now on Strictly Come Dancing rather than in a dugout somewhere.
