Tottenham striker Harry Kane wanting to break Alan Shearer's goalscoring record could have an impact on his future, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The £200,000 per-week star is hunting down Shearer's all-time Premier League record and Sheth reckons that could lead to him staying in England amid increased speculation from Bayern Munich.

What's the latest news involving Kane?

Despite enjoying a productive start to the season under Antonio Conte, talk about Kane's future won't go away.

That's mainly because the England international has entered the final two years of his deal, although Kane is 'open' to signing a new contract.

But BILD journalist Christian Falk claimed earlier this month that Bayern are hoping Kane doesn't sign a contract extension, so they can launch a bid to bring the frontman to the Allianz Arena next summer.

Kane was involved in a transfer saga with Manchester City in the summer of 2021, but they've since signed Erling Haaland, which doesn't leave him many other options in the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal highly unlikely, while Liverpool now have Darwin Nunez.

What did Sheth say about Kane?

When asked about Kane's future, he told GIVEMESPORT: "The other thing I would say is we can't underestimate the ambition of Harry Kane to become the Premier League's highest ever goalscorer.

"He's chasing down Alan Shearer's record of 260 goals and he probably thinks he can make that; he probably thinks he's got enough seasons in him at the top level to be able to break that record.

"To move to Bayern Munich or to move away from the Premier League, even for one or two seasons, that would effectively end any kind of hope he would have of becoming the Premier League all-time record goalscorer. So, I think that is another aspect that you'd have to look at as well, when a club comes in for him."

Will Kane break Shearer's record?

If Kane stays in England for the rest of his career, surely only injuries will stop him from overtaking Shearer.

Currently, he's now 71 goals behind the ex-Newcastle striker, which might sound like a lot.

But when you remember that Kane has averaged more than 22 Premier League goals a season since he broke into the Tottenham team, it suggests that he might only be three or four years away from reaching the 260-goal mark.
