WWE won't be re-signing Miro anytime soon, as a new report has claimed that he doesn't want to return.

Over the last few weeks, we've seen reports from the likes of Fightful and the Wrestling Observer that have claimed that several AEW stars have requested their releases.

It's also been reported by the same sources that those wrestlers who have asked to leave AEW want to do so because they want to return to WWE, but Miro seemingly isn't one of them.

Is Miro (Rusev) returning to WWE?

Fans had speculated that like the likes of Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews, Miro wanted to leave AEW, however, that doesn't appear to be the case.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Miro (formerly Rusev) doesn't want to return to WWE, with it not even being believed that the former TNT Champion has requested his release, via WrestleTalk.

Miro does not want to go back. The only guys that really want to go back are the ones who have significant others with the other company.

The same report notes that the only people within AEW who want to go back to WWE are the likes of Black and Matthews, who have partners working for WWE right now.

Malakai is married to Zelina Vega, while Buddy is dating Rhea Ripley, and the report explains that this is one of the reasons they're keen to come back to WWE.

While it's not been reported that he's one of the people who has asked to leave AEW, fans have speculated that Andrade could be another ex-WWE star who wants to return.

When did Miro leave WWE?

Rusev, who was once described as an "incredible talent" by Bobbby Lashley, was released by WWE in April 2020, right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of a cost-cutting measure.

Just five months later, the 36-year-old debuted for AEW, immediately partnering himself with Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

After a few months where fans criticised his booking, Miro found his feet as one of AEW's featured performers with his 'Redeemer', going on to hold the TNT Championship.

As of right now, there's no word on what the future holds for Miro, but some fans have been critical of how sparing the former WWE Superstar is being used by AEW right now.

It's this criticism from fans that has perhaps led to the speculation from many that Miro wants out of AEW, although that seems to be wide of the mark based on reports.
