Gianluigi Donnarumma pulled off an epic triple save in Italy's win over Hungary on Monday evening.

It was winner takes all in the match at Puskás Aréna Park.

The two sides went into the game seperated by two points at the top of their Nations League group.

A draw in front of their own fans would have been enough to see Hungary hold on to top spot and progress to the finals.

A victory for Roberto Mancini's side, though, would see Gli Azzurri steal first place.

And that is exactly what happened as Italy won 2-0 and picked up all three points in Hungary.

Giacamo Raspadori scored the winner against England last Friday and he opened the scoring again in the 27th minute.

Federico Dimarco then doubled his side's lead seven minutes after the break and Italy held on to pick up the victory they desired.

Donnarumma pulls off epic triple save

Italy have a lot to thank their world-class goalkeeper, Donnarumma, for.

Hungary had the majority of the play and produced six shots on target to Italy's three.

But Marco Rossi's side could not find a way past an inspired Donnarumma in Italy's goal.

The 23-year-old's best moment in the match came in the 50th minute when he produced three saves in the space of a matter of seconds.

Loic Nego, Callum Styles and Adam Szalai all tried their luck but Donnarumma spurned them all. View his saves below...

That last save was just brilliant. Donnarumma showed great reflexes to get up off the floor and deny Szalai from close range.

Just minutes later Italy made it 2-0.

Marco Rossi: Donnarumma is world's best

Donnarumma made six saves in the game, including three from inside the box, and ended the match with an 8.7 rating, per SofaScore.

Rossi paid tribute to the Paris Saint-Germain stopper after the game and declared that there is no goalkeeper better in world football.

"It would have been nice to perform a miracle tonight, but when you play against teams like Italy, you have to make zero mistakes and hope the other side get it wrong," Rossi said in his post-match press conference, per Yahoo! Sport.

"Even when we did have the chances, we were kept out by the best goalkeeper in the world. It's no coincidence that PSG signed Donnarumma."
