Norway’s U21 team will tell you all about Marcus Rashford’s speed.
The Manchester United striker burned Norway’s defence before scoring the first of three goals in England U21’s 6-1 win earlier in the month.
It’s his speed that makes Rashford such a danger. In a team that includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney, the teenager's attributes provide another dimension to United’s attack.
There’s no easy way to stop a player who has pace to burn. You simply need to hope that there technique doesn’t quite match up to their physical skills.
Yes, we’re looking at you, Theo Walcott.
Rashford can rely on his speed to help him beat almost any defender, but there was one time when he faced someone he simply couldn’t get around.
Rashford's fastest opponent
In an interview with YouTuber Spencer Owen, Rashford was asked to name his fastest opponent.
“[Hector] Bellerin,” the 18-year-old said. “I remember I was on the left and I knocked it past him, got to the ball but then I couldn’t turn because I could see him coming. I could feel his presence.”
Chelsea forward Pedro will certainly agree with Rashford’s answer. Bellerin, who has even discussed the possibility of racing Usain Bolt, showcased his speed with a glorious tackle on Pedro during Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Chelsea on Saturday.
The United man was also quizzed about his teammates’ haircuts, whether Jesse Lingard or Paul Pogba performs the best dab and his childhood idol.
Rashford also explained the influence Zlatan Ibrahimovic has had on him following the Swede’s summer move to Old Trafford.
"He's probably helped me improve more than what he thinks," the England international said. "Without even saying anything, just me watching him, his hold up play and how he dictates his game.
"There's a lot more to learn."
