Odell Beckham Jr should be looking at joining the Baltimore Ravens this season, ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson has claimed.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, having been released by the Los Angeles Rams at the end of last season, a season in which he played a big part in getting the team to the Super Bowl and then going on to win it, is currently something of a busy bee despite not actually doing a lot of physical work.

Having suffered an ACL injury during the Super Bowl, the second time he has had it happen to him in his career, he is currently without a team until he can recover fully and be ready to play, something that NFL insider Adam Schefter claims won’t happen until Thanksgiving.

Beckham Jr was once one of the top receivers in the National Football League, launching himself into the mainstream with his remarkable one-handed catch back in 2014, and racking up 1,000+ seasons in five of his first six campaigns with both the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, with the only exception being 2017 when he was hampered by ankle problems and missed a large portion of it due to surgery.

Odell Beckham Jr hits some bumps in the road

However in recent years those numbers have decreased, in large part due to the amount of time that he has spent out of the game injured, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t still got something in him.

For instance, last season he only had 44 receptions for 537 yards in the regular season along with 5 touchdowns, but it wasn’t until the postseason that he really began to shine once again, catching a further 21 balls for 288 yards and 2 scores, including the opening touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl.

Now though he has to play the waiting game to get back 100% healthy, and when that happens, as a free agent, he will be able to pretty much pick the team he wants to join, and former player Keyshawn Johnson believes that the Baltimore Ravens are the best option for him.

Odell Beckham Jr to give Baltimore an even bigger boost?

Speaking on ESPN’s KJM, Johnson explained that if the Ravens were to take an interest in him later in the season and if he were Beckham Jr, then that is who he would go to:

If Odell had the same mindset as me anyway, if it's available to me, and I can go to Baltimore, and that makes sense, I'm doing it and I think Odell is that type of person as well.

The Baltimore Ravens have started this season incredibly well on offense, leading the league in passing touchdowns with 10, and points with 99, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson who looks to be back to the form that wowed us all during his 2019 NFL MVP season.

But you can never have enough of a good thing, and as Beckham Jr showed us last season, even if it’s in a reduced role, he is still someone that can come up big for you, so why not give it a go and take that offense from incredible to elite at the drop of a hat?
