Arsenal are likely to still be keeping tabs on Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The Gunners tried to sign the highly-rated Serbian striker back in January, only for the Old Lady to come in and convince him to stay in Serie A.

What's the latest news involving Vlahovic?

Back in January, Sky Sports claimed that Arsenal held a 'strong interest' with Mikel Arteta in desperate need of a striker following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's departure and Alexandre Lacazette's struggles in front of goal.

Despite the north Londoners' interest, they were unable to meet Fiorentina's asking price, which allowed Juventus to swoop in and secure his services in a £66m deal.

Fortunately for Arsenal, Erling Haaland signed for Manchester City, which meant Gabriel Jesus became available, with Arteta's connections leading to him making the switch to the Emirates.

But according to CMW, the Gunners remain interested, with Arteta telling the hierarchy to make a move for the 22-year-old, who's yet to hit the ground running since making the move to Turin.

Regardless, while O'Rourke recognises that Vlahovic will still be on their radar, he doesn't expect Juve to let him to leave so quickly after his arrival.

What did O'Rourke say about Vlahovic?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Obviously they wanted Vlahovic in January but lost out to Juventus.

"They do like the player, but I don't think the need is there now for Arsenal after bringing in Jesus.

"But I'm sure that Arsenal will continue to keep tabs on Vlahovic as he's been a target for the club, but I'd be very surprised if Juventus consider selling him despite his struggles."

How has Vlahovic for Juventus?

Vlahovic, described as 'unbelievable' by Fabrizio Romano, arrived at Juventus with an impressive record of 49 goals in 108 games for Fiorentina, but the 22-year-old is yet to replicate that type of form at Allianz Stadium.

He scored nine goals in 21 games during the second half of last season, which was a decent return, but still not close to the type of goalscoring numbers he was putting up at Fiorentina.

And Vlahovic has continued to struggle during the early weeks of this season, finding the net just four times in eight games in all competitions and is yet to get off the mark in the Champions League, with Juventus currently bottom of their group.

With that in mind, Arsenal might have ended up dodging a bullet when missing out on Vlahovic after all.
