Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is ‘fully behind’ the project at the club at this moment in time, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Italian tactician has been linked with a shock return to Juventus in recent weeks due to the struggles of Massimiliano Allegri, but there are no signs of an imminent departure just yet.

What is the latest news involving Conte?

SportItalia correspondent Tancredi Palmeri recently claimed that Juve have made contact with Conte over the possibility of taking over the struggling side once again.

The 53-year-old was in charge of the Old Lady from 2011 to 2014 with a small break in the middle of his tenure, claiming three consecutive Serie A titles along the way.

It followed on from Conte’s extensive stint as a Juventus player that stretched between 1991 and 2004, cementing his status as a club legend with the Turin-based outfit.

However, it would still perhaps be a surprise to see Conte return to Juve in their current state, especially given the success he is enjoying at Tottenham and the backing he has received off the pitch.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport recently revealed that the Bianconeri racked up record-breaking losses of €254.3 million (£229.5) in 2021/22, while Spurs splashed out around £150m on new signings over the summer.

What has O’Rourke said about Conte?

O’Rourke has informed GiveMeSport that he believes Conte, who earns £250,000-per-week, ‘wants to be successful’ in north London and will be in ‘no rush’ to leave his current position.

He said: “I think he's fully behind this project at Tottenham. He was backed in the transfer market in the summer as well, and I think he's in no rush to leave Tottenham right now.

“I think he wants to carry on the good work that he's done there so far, and he wants to be successful at Tottenham right now.”

How well are Tottenham and Juventus performing?

Tottenham are sitting in third position in the Premier League standings after remaining unbeaten in their opening seven top-flight fixtures, winning on five occasions.

A 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sporting CP in the Champions League is their only loss of 2022/23, leaving them in an extremely healthy position heading into a hectic run of fixtures.

Meanwhile, Juventus have claimed just two victories in their nine games across all competitions, suffering consecutive losses in the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica.

Allegri’s charges are lingering in eighth place in Serie A and are already seven points behind league-leaders Napoli.
