Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will have caused concern for ‘everybody’ connected with the club after he travelled to Turin during the international break, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Italian spent the summer building his Spurs squad, spending over £150 million in the process, but his future in north London is now in doubt.

What is the latest on Conte?

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is coming under increasing pressure in Italy after overseeing a slow start to the Serie A season.

Journalist Fabian Della Valle has claimed recently that Conte wants to leave Tottenham in order to return to his former club, where he spent three years as manager.

It was later reported that Czech Republic legend and Juve director Pavel Nedved wants to bring the Italian back to the Allianz Stadium when his Tottenham deal expires in 2023, according to MailOnline.

The report adds that he may have already returned to the club were it not for a falling out between the 53-year-old and Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli while Conte was Inter Milan manager.

Tottenham’s concerns will not have been eased when the boss was seen wandering around the streets of Turin, after being spotted by some excited Juventus supporters.

What has O’Rourke said on the situation?

With rumours swirling around Conte, O’Rourke says it is inevitable that this sort of news will cause concern among supporters.

The journalist adds that Juventus are a club close to the manager’s heart and there will be widespread worry throughout the north Londoners.

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “The rumours aren’t great. If you hear these continued rumours it will get fans worried about Conte’s long-term future. Obviously, Juventus are a club that are close to his heart, he played for them and managed them, so that will be a bit of a concern for everybody connected with Tottenham.”

Should Tottenham fans be worried?

Having led Spurs back into the Champions League last season, it would be a surprise if Conte was to not see out the current campaign in north London.

But with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Spurs fans should not necessarily expect to see the Italian in the dugout at the start of next term.

Conte has spent just two seasons in each of his previous two roles, with Inter Milan and Chelsea, so it would be no surprise to see him continue that streak.

Perhaps the only difference is that he won silverware with both sides and Conte may feel his time in north London will not be classed as a success until he does the same with Tottenham.
