Brock Lesnar's sword tattoo, which he got after leaving WWE in 2004, has a rather deep meaning.

Fans have asked for years for the meaning behind Brock's sword tattoo, which starts on his stomach and goes right up to under his neck.

The tattoo is one that some fans don't exactly think looks the best, but there's no denying its meaning is important.

What does Brock Lesnar's sword tattoo mean?

In his book, which was released the year before Lesnar returned to WWE for his second run, he dedicated a whole chapter to what his tattoo means, via Sportskeeda.

Lesnar left WWE in 2004 to pursue a career in the NFL, but things didn't work out for him there. He then phoned Vince McMahon to ask to come back, but the ex-Chairman wasn't interested.

This resulted in Lesnar spiralling into a state of depression, explaining in his book, which is titled, Death Club: My Story of Determination, Domination and Survival, why he decided to get the ink.

I felt like life was holding a sword right up against my throat, so I went under the ink gun because I never wanted to forget exactly how I felt at that time. It’s my inspiration to fight back, because if there’s one thing I know deep in my heart about myself, it’s that I am not a quitter. I am a warrior, and I will never let anything or anyone—be it the NFL or Vince McMahon—keep me down!

Is Brock Lesnar coming back to WWE?

Despite Vince turning down Brock's request for a return after his failed NFL career, WWE brought back 'The Beast' for a second run in 2012.

Lesnar has worked for the company since, going on to hold several more world titles, as well as main eventing WrestleMania several times, ensuring he goes down as one of WWE's biggest stars ever.

Lesnar was last seen on WWE TV in July after being defeated by Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal title that main evented SummerSlam.

Fans had speculated that Brock was going to retire after the match, but reports state that he could be now set to return under Triple H, with his comeback set to take place sooner rather than later.
