Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will have ‘only been impressed’ by Jude Bellingham’s performances for England during the international break as the Reds continue to be linked with the teenager, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Klopp was handed over £90 million to bolster his squad during the summer transfer window but he could soon splash even more cash on new recruits.
What is the latest on Bellingham?
The Three Lions fought back from a 2-0 deficit to lead 3-2 on the night, with Bellingham winning the penalty from which Harry Kane fired the hosts in front, only for Kai Havertz to level moments later.
After full time, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson praised the Borussia Dortmund star’s ‘mentality’ and labelled him as an ‘amazing player’.
The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for Bellingham and are understood to be making progress in their efforts to buy him next summer.
However, a report from The Sun has suggested that Dortmund could accept an £83 million offer if the fee is paid upfront.
What has O’Rourke said on the youngster?
O’Rourke believes that it would be impossible to have watched Bellingham’s latest performances for England and be anything other than impressed.
He adds that the former Birmingham City ace will have secured his spot in Southgate’s starting XI for the upcoming World Cup.
O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “I think you could only have been impressed by Jude Bellingham. In those two games, he was England’s best player and was named man of the match against Germany the other night as well and, for 19, what a player he looks. He just looks like he’s got it all. He’s got so much experience already at such a young age and I’m sure those couple of performances for England have now cemented him a place in Gareth Southgate’s starting XI for the World Cup.”
Would Bellingham be a good signing?
Despite only being 19, Bellingham is already one of Europe’s most exciting midfielders so it is frightening to imagine how good he may be in a few years’ time.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has previously lavished Bellingham with praise, too, describing him as ‘exceptional’.
There is no question he will be a huge coup for the club who manages to sign him from Dortmund.
