Leeds youngster Archie Gray could become a "massive player" for the club in the future, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.

The 16-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Elland Road side, but he's still been involved with Jesse Marsch's team.

What's the latest news involving Gray?

The teenager could have made Premier League history by becoming the youngest player in the competition's history last December when he was named in the squad to face Arsenal.

Unfortunately for Gray, he didn't come off the bench, but it spoke volumes about how highly he is rated by Leeds, even though his inclusion was more down to an injury crisis at the club.

Gray was on the bench a further five times last season before getting his first taste of first-team action during the club's pre-season tour of Australia.

He made two substitute appearances against Brisbane Roar and Aston Villa, before being rewarded with a place in the squad for the opening day win over Wolves.

Gray hasn't been involved in a first-team squad since, but he's clearly highly-rated by Marsch, who described him as 'fearless' and 'aggressive' before going on so say that he's got the 'full package'.

What did Thornton say about Gray?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "The fact that he's been in and around the first team at his age tells you a lot.

"So, they don't need to rush him, but he'll probably get opportunities as the season goes on and if he can continue to develop, then he could be a massive player for Leeds in years to come."

How has Gray performed this season?

Despite his lack of senior chances, Gray is still gaining valuable experience with the Under-21s.

Take his most recent outing against Southampton for example, the teenager started alongside the likes of Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford in what proved a strong XI due to players returning from injury.

Gray played the full 90 minutes and set up Cooper's goal in the 6-2 victory, taking his overall tally this season to two assists in four appearances.

With games coming thick and fast due to the World Cup, if Gray continues impressing for the younger sides, he could get handed his debut in the Carabao Cup tie with Wolves in mid-November.
