The gaming company EA Sports will officially release the highly popular console game FIFA 23 on September 30, but the Ultimate Edition has been available since September 27 for gamers who pre-ordered it.
The new video game marks the final collaboration between the tech giants EA Sports and FIFA as the two parties are set to part ways after nearly three decades of a successful partnership.
In a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool played on FIFA 23, the French commentator was seen to be vigorously chanting the name of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner after he gave PSG the lead 20 minutes into the contest.
In his words, he appraised the 34-year-old winger, singing his name repeatedly: “Messi! Messi!! Messi!!!”

The Argentine maestro has kickstarted the new campaign with some scintillating performances, netting four times in as few as nine matches. With seven assists to show off so far this season, Messi has rekindled his form and begun to hit his stride in the French capital after an underwhelming first spell at the Parisian club, where he managed a paltry sum of goals (six) in 26 appearances in the Ligue 1 last season.
Women’s football in FIFA 23
The latest edition of EA Sports’ video game is characterised with new features, most notably the recognition of women’s club football.
Women’s football has recently gained prominence on a global stage and with Chelsea Women’s forward Sam Kerr featuring on the cover of the FIFA 23, coupled with the inclusion of Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema of the French League, is a pontification to this assertion.
In addition to that, the innovative intuition of the gaming company was brought to the fore in the production of the FIFA 23 as they created a World Cup mode that features both a men and women’s tournament in view of this year’s World Cup competition in Qatar.
This is rightly in tandem with FIFA’s objective to produce a unique and classy edition of the video game.
“We are committed to ensuring the next FIFA is our best ever, with more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any FIFA title before,” FIFA said in a released press statement.
