Chris Eubank Jr has confirmed that his dad Chris Eubank Sr will be in his corner for his eagerly-anticipated grudge match against Conor Benn.

However, his dad is 'worried' he won't be able to make weight for his catchweight bout against his British rival.

Eubank Jr is set to face Benn in a repeat of their dads' famous rivalry later this year.

The 157lbs weight limit, which will be the first time Eubank Jr has weighed 157lbs in his professional career, has led to his dad describing the move as 'suicide.'

Eubank Sr has been vocal about the weight limit having a negative effect on Junior's intriguing clash with Benn.

In an interview with The Times, the 56-year-old publicly expressed concern about the drastic weight cut, referring to the death of his son Sebastian, who died of a heart attack at the age of 26 last year.

Eubank Jr, 33, has competed for almost his entire career at either middleweight or as high as super-middleweight, while Benn, 26, will be moving up two weight classes.

However he insists that his dad really ought not to worry so much as he is a consummate professional who is doing everything by the book to make sure that nothing can possibly go awry.

"He should be in the corner," Eubank told DAZN. "If you want to find out, you got to tune in.

"He's worried about the weight. He knows that it's tough for me to make 160. I don't even walk around that much above 160.

"I have no body fat. I'm not like other fighters where they can sweat off a couple of pounds. It's very difficult for me to cut weight because I don't carry any weight on me.

"I'm in shape all year round. I don't go up in weight. So he's worried about it.

"But I've let him know, ‘Listen, I'm a professional. I've been doing this for a long time. You got nothing to worry about. I'm gonna make the weight, and I'm gonna teach this kid a lesson."
