Alexia Putellas is the highest-rated player on FIFA 23, but how accurate are her overall stats?

The Spanish midfielder is widely considered the best women’s footballer in the world and is the reigning UEFA Women’s Player of the Year as well as the holder of the Ballon d’Or Feminin.

Putellas has played for Barcelona since 2012 and has racked up almost 400 appearances –– winning 14 trophies.

The 28-year-old is also Spain’s most capped player, having featured for the national team more than 100 times since 2013.

While the Barcelona Women’s team are not on FIFA 23, those with the game will still have a chance to use the midfield maestro if they play as Spain.

Putellas has an overall rating of 92 –– one higher than Chelsea women’s star Sam Kerr, Lyon captain Wendie Renard and Norwegian striker Ada Hegerberg.

As with most players on FIFA, there will be some people who disagree with the specific ratings and statistics given to certain players.

And though the majority will no doubt agree that Putellas deserves to be rated so highly, we’ve decided to assess just how accurate her stats are.

Since the Spaniard is an attacking-minded player, we’ve refrained from analysing defensive statistics and instead focused on some of her key attributes.

Are Putellas’ stats accurate?

Sprint-speed - 78

Putellas is not renowned for her pace, but at times it appears as though she glides across the pitch, with her remarkable first touch and exquisite dribbling.

That being said, she certainly wouldn’t beat the likes of Delphine Cascarino and Lauren Hemp in a foot race.

In that respect, 78 sprint speed is probably a fair score overall.

Finishing - 94

Having scored 34 goals for Barcelona last season, it’s no surprise that Putellas has such good finishing stats.

Overall, she has the joint-second best finishing in the entire game, with US star Alex Morgan leading the way with 95.

If you have any doubts about just how clinical the Spaniard is in front of goal, then check out this finish.

Dribbling - 93

Putellas is a joy to watch with the ball at her feet and 93 dribbling is no less than the Barca star deserves.

It is, however, one less than her teammate Caroline Graham Hansen, who has 94 dribbling.

Though Graham Hansen is also capable of gliding through opposition defences, we think it’s impossible to decide who’s better.

If we were forced to decide, we’d have given both players 94.

Skill-moves - 5 stars

There’s no arguing with Putellas’ skill moves.

The 28-year-old possesses almost every trick in the book and appears to pull them out almost every match.

There are multiple compilations of Putellas terrorising players with her fancy flicks and deft body feints.

Take a look at this.

Passing - (short) 95 (long) 91

Putellas is far from just a goalscorer and registered 18 assists in all competitions last year.

The Spanish legend has a near-perfect passing range and It’s, therefore, not surprising to see the midfielder have such high passing stats.
