Qatar World Cup chiefs are set to create a 'desert festival' where fans travelling to the tournament can drink alcohol for up to 17 hours a day.

As detailed by The Sun, Glastonbury festival promoter Arcadia have been contacted by those in power and asked to run a version in the Middle East later on this year.

According to the report, the event will be known as the 'Arcadia Spectacular' and the famous 50 tonne fire-breathing spider from Glastonbury will be making the long trip.

What will be on offer at the 'Arcadia Spectacular'?

The event is set to offer a 15,000 capacity, with tickets to cost fans around £50 each day - which certainly isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

Once inside, those lucky enough to attend will have a plethora of food and drink options to pick from - and alcohol will be served from 10am until 3am the following day.

That will allow fans to watch all four daily group games at the start of the tournament, which kicks off with Qatar's match against Ecuador on November 20th.

World Cup organisers are yet to officially confirm the prices alcohol will be available for at the festival, but it is thought pints will cost around £8 each.

That amount will sound like quite a lot to England fans, but it's far better than the terrifying £15.50 figure from a detailed report published by The Mirror last week.

As well as the food and drink options, fans will be treated to “A-list lineups from the global stage of techno and house music”.

England fans celebrate a goal

Where will the 'Arcadia Spectacular' be located?

As per The Sun's report, the festival's site - which will apparently offer “the most immersive shows on Earth” - will be between Doha airport and the England team's base camp at the Souk Al-Wakrah hotel.

Or to put it more simply, it will be around 20 minutes from the capital city, which is Doha.

So fans in Qatar certainly won't have to travel far to enjoy what's on offer and if all the above details are indeed correct, it sounds like it will be a great place to go and enjoy the World Cup action.

Qatar World Cup chiefs have also set up an official 'Fan Festival' in the city centre Al Bidda Park, which will cater for thousands more supporters from all across the globe.

However, alcohol will only be served there from 5pm until the end of the day's final game, which will be around 12am.

Alcohol will be served at all the World Cup stadiums in Qatar too, but only before and after the games.
