Lionel Messi is playing some incredible football right now.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar scored four goals during this recent international break, bagging braces in 3-0 wins against Honduras and Jamaica.

For his club, Messi has scored four and assisted a further seven goals in Ligue 1 matches this season.

The 35-year-old is showing that the decision to leave him out of the 30-man shortlist for the 2022 Ballon d'Or was a ridiculous one.

He is still up there with the very best despite his advancing years.

Many consider Messi to be the greatest player to have ever played the game. Whether that's your opinion or not, watching the Argentine in the flesh is on the bucket list for many football fans.

To say you've watched Messi play live is something to tell the grandkids.

Of course, just being in the same era as him and being able to watch him on television every week is something to be extremely grateful for.

But being in the same stadium as him and watching his every move is something totally different.

One viral video this week proves just that.

It comes from Argentina's victory over Honduras.

In the opening 10 minutes, Messi is confronted by an opponent as he looks to find some space. After jinking and dropping a few shoulders, Messi finds half a yard of space - and he uses it incredibly.

Messi proceeds to play a stunning pass with the outside of his left boot that finds his teammate on the right wing.

Amazing.

The clip has gone viral on Twitter and many fans have highlighted the joy of watching Messi live.

It's fair to say Messi and Argentina are definitely ready for the World Cup in Qatar.

They will enter the tournament as one of the favourites, facing Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland in Group C.

While Messi will be looking to lead his nation to victory, there are plenty of world-class talent joining him in Lionel Scaloni's squad.

Lautaro Martinez, Rodrigo De Paul, Angel Di Maria, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Enzo Fernandez will all play supporting roles to Messi throughout the tournament as La Albiceleste look to win their first World Cup since 1986.
