Kylian Mbappe wanted Paris Saint-Germain to sign Marcus Rashford as part of a four-man wish-list in the most recent summer transfer window.

The Frenchman was widely expected to be Real Madrid bound for large swathes of the 2021/22 season.

However, a bumper contract offer from the Parisians that's seen Mbappe take home a staggering £1.3 million-per-week was enough to force him to reconsider and remain with the club.

Although it's not just money that Mbappe was assured when he committed his future to PSG.

He was also reportedly promised a say in all club matters, from transfer policy to the hiring and firing of management staff.

It's a level of power that's totally unprecedented in the game and an issue that seems to be causing friction amongst the PSG squad, with Neymar clashing numerous times with his teammate already this season.

Messi, Mbappe, Neymar

The Daily Mail reported recently that Neymar believes Mbappe 'wasn't opposed' to the club hierarchy selling him, and even suggested that the Brazilian thought Mbappe was the driving force in attempting to make it happen.

Which makes for interesting reading now, as reports have also emerged detailing Mbappe's board requests for the most recent transfer window.

Mbappe's four-man wish-list

A report in RMC Sport, relayed per The Mirror, says that Mbappe asked sporting director Luis Campos to sign a striker he could play alongside.

The Frenchman provided Campos with a four-man shopping list that featured Rashford, Robert Lewandowski, Gianluca Scamacca and Ousmane Dembele.

All four represented very realistic transfer targets at the time, with Lewandowski eventually signing for Barcelona, whilst Scamacca now plays for West Ham.

Dembele was a free agent for a period as Barcelona desperately tried to get him to agree to lower terms.

But Rashford proves the most interesting inclusion of all given the Englishman had enjoyed a pretty diabolical season by his previously lofty standards in the Man Utd red.

Rashford has been in much better form this time around, though, netting against Liverpool and twice in his side's victory over Arsenal.

However, whether or not interest will be renewed in the star by the French side in the near future remains to be seen.
