It was a terrific hit from Gallagher and one worthy of winning any game.

It was Gallagher's first ever goal for Chelsea, the club he has been at since the age of 8.

Gallagher showed restraint after the goal and, in respect to his former club, did not celebrate.

How he managed to show no emotion after scoring such a belter, we will never know.

Chelsea held on to clinch a valuable three points.

Patrick Vieira’s side may have reason to be aggrieved with the result.

With the score 1-0 to Palace in the first half, Thiago Silva appeared to deliberately handle the ball to prevent Edouard racing away towards Chelsea’s goal.

He escaped a red card, though, with the referee only deeming it a yellow card offence. Just minutes later he set up Aubameyang and went on to play the full match.
