Emma Raducanu will compete in three WTA Tour events this month as she looks to break into the top 50 once again.

The Brit recently suffered a huge drop in ranking points after she was knocked out of the US Open in the first round by France's Alizé Cornet.

After failing to defend her title in New York, the 19-year-old must now prove she can play the long game and work her way back up the rankings.

Where and when is Raducanu playing?

Raducanu's first tournament of the month will be the Agel Open in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

She will make her tournament debut on Monday when she takes on Daria Kasatkina in the opening round.

The world number 66 will be looking to carry her impressive form at the Korea Open into the upcoming indoor tournament. Raducanu reached the semi-finals in Seoul — her best finish since winning the 2021 US Open — without dropping a set.

However, an injury forced her to retire against Jeļena Ostapenko in the third set of their match.

After her visit to Ostrava, Raducanu is set to return to the Transylvania Open, which gets underway on October 10th.

The tournament is on the home soil of her Romanian father, which also gives her the chance to visit her grandmother.

Raducanu reached the quarter-finals in the 2021 Transylvania Open, where she lost to Marta Kostyuk and was snubbed of the chance to play Romanian idol Simona Halep in the semis.

Raducanu will round off her October by competing in the final WTA 1000 event of the year, the Guadalajara Open.

The Brit was given a wildcard entry for the Mexican tournament, which gets underway on October 17th.

She has also been confirmed for an exhibition singles match against Tunisia's Ons Jabeur at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in December.

How has Raducanu performed in 2022?

Raducanu's performance at the Korea Open was the best of this year so far.

Since her historic triumph at the US Open, she has struggled to recreate the form she stunned the world with in New York.

After her first round exit at this year's Flushing Meadows, she was hit with a hefty 72-place ranking drop. This caused her to slip from 11th in the world, down to 83rd.

However, the Brit has already managed to make up 17 places thanks to her strong run at the Korea Open.

She will be hoping to continue this form into October as she looks to set up her best possible approach to 2023.

Prior to her run in South Korea, Raducanu had been dealt a number of first and second round exits. She has also struggled with a series of injuries throughout 2022.

Her withdrawal from the Korea Open marked her fourth retirement due to injury this year, and fifth since making her WTA Tour debut last June.

Can Raducanu break into the top 50 this month?

Edging her way back inside the top 50 will be the next mission on Raducanu's radar.

She has three opportunities to do so this month, especially during the Guadalajara Open.

The first October tournament on Raducanu's list is the Agel Open, a WTA 500 event which has 470 rankings points on offer for the winner.

Up next is the Transylvania Open, which has fewer points up for grabs with it being a WTA 250 event, but Raducanu could still bank 280 if she clinches the win.

The big scoring opportunity lies in Mexico. The winner of the Guadalajara Open will scoop 900 ranking points, as it is a non-mandatory WTA 1000 tournament.

As it stands, Raducanu is ranked 66th in the world with 856 points. She is 150 points adrift from Sloane Stephens of the USA, who is currently 50th with 1,006 points.
