Premier League football returned to our lives last weekend with a double dose of derby day madness as Arsenal took on Tottenham and Manchester City welcomed United.
The Etihad clash was yet another stark reminder of just how much the balance of power has shifted in the great northern footballing City, with the hosts running amok in the crisp autumn air.
Erling Haaland, of course, was an absolute menace, bagging a scintillating hat-trick - with sultry help from Kevin De Bruyne - to keep his hyper-space scoring record well on track.
Phil Foden was his chief partner in crime, with the Englishman bagging a trice of his own as United wilted under the relentless wave of City pressure that broke upon them.
While the final score read a helter-skelter 6-3, City were never at risk of bagging anything but the three points.
Arsenal comfortably beat north London rivals Tottenham
In the capital, meanwhile, Arsenal's brilliant start to the season continued apace as they claimed a comfortable win over fierce rivals Tottenham in the London sunshine.
It was a glorious afternoon for anyone that might consider themselves a Gunner as goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka put the Tottenham challenge to bed.

Partey's devilish opener was the pick of the bunch, as he whipped it viciously into the top corner to leave a floundering Hugo Lloris with absolutely no chance whatsoever.
While the Jesus goal was a scrappy affair, Xhaka's strike was yet another reminder that he is a man reborn this season.

And, thankfully for us, watching over all of this was the commentary poet and wordsmith, Peter Drury.
Over the years, Drury has developed himself quite a following thanks to his unmatched ability to weaponise the English language and weave a web of oratory magic around some of the great moments in the game.

In fact, so eloquent is Drury, that he often ends up with a highlights package all of his own after every big game.
He was up to his old tricks yet again at the Emirates as he narrated Arsenal's latest leap in the right direction.
