Tottenham's Harry Kane has been accused of kicking Arsenal's Gabriel whilst he was on the floor during the north London derby on Saturday.

Spurs had a tough afternoon at the Emirates, falling to a 3-1 defeat to Mikel Arteta's side.

Kane got himself on the scoresheet in the first half, equalising from the penalty spot after Gabriel brought down Richarlison.

But it was the only positive to take away from the lunchtime clash for Tottenham.

Thomas Partey had earlier given the Gunners the lead with a brilliant finish from outside the box.

Kane's spot-kick hauled Antonio Conte's side level at the break, a scoreline that flattered the visitors in truth.

But it didn't take long for Arsenal to retake the lead after half time as Gabriel Jesus capitalised on Hugo Lloris' error.

The match was effectively over when Emerson Royal produced a stupid tackle on Gabriel Martinelli that earned him a red card.

Five minutes later, it was over as Granit Xhaka made it 3-1 with more than 20 minutes remaining.

The frustration amongst the Tottenham players was clear for all to see as they came to terms with the fact they will be leaving the home of their biggest rivals empty-handed.

And those frustrations appeared to boil over as far as Kane is concerned.

Just minutes after Xhaka made it 3-1, the Spurs striker tangled with Gabriel.

And footage has now emerged that suggests he may have deliberately kicked the Arsenal defender while he was on the floor.

That's certainly the point many Arsenal fans have been making on social media as they accused Kane of being very naughty in his actions.

Conte: Spurs have to be more clinical

Spurs remain in third following the result but trail Arsenal by four points having lost their first game of the campaign.

And manager, Antonio Conte, believes they needed to be more clinical to get a result.

"It’s a difficult day because in the first half, we felt the possibility to win the game," Conte told the club's official website. "We had the possibility to kill the game in the first half and you have to know very well in this type of game, you have to be clinical.

"I repeat, if I have to complain about something, it’s the first half. I think we had many chances and we made mistakes in the last passes, big mistakes.

"We must be disappointed for this reason. Every time we played the ball and overcame their pressure, we could hurt them. Instead, we kept them alive, then in the second half we conceded the second goal. We could do much better but, you know very well, when you concede a goal, you can always do something better. Then, after a few minutes, the red card killed the game."
