Champions League football roars back into life this week as the cream of the European crop prepare to battle it out.

Liverpool face Rangers in what promises to be an intriguing game while the glamour clash of the round will come at the San Siro as Inter Milan welcome Barcelona.

Real Madrid will be hoping to continue their faultless start to their title defence as they face Shakhtar Donetsk while the juggernaut that is Manchester City welcome FC Copenhagen.

With PSG also looking in electric form, the tournament really does feel wide open this year, especially after a summer of heavy spending across the board.

Thanks to data from the folks over at Transfermarkt, we were able to compare and contrast each of the five line-ups that the metrics churned out.

The arrival of the menace that is Erling Haaland has given the Premier League XI quite the bump. Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias help complete a City-heavy side.

Despite their struggles, Liverpool also enjoy healthy representation with Mohamad Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and goalkeeper Alisson all featuring.

Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid absolutely dominate the Spanish side thanks to their band of young, swashbuckling European champions.

Joao Felix is the only star to feature that doesn't don the colours of Real or Barcelona. All in all, it makes for a terrifying line-up.

No less than seven Bayern Munich players feature while Englishman Jude Bellingham also makes the cut.

Christopher Nkunku, recently linked with a move to Chelsea, also boasts a spot among the XI.

Mega-rich PSG was always going to dominate with their gaggle of highly-paid superstars.

The Parisian giants came within one spot of completing a clean sweep, with only Jonathan David of Lille able to break the fierce monopoly.

Juventus fans may want to look away now as only two of their stars make the cut in Italy.

Meanwhile, over in Milan, both Inter and AC boast a very handy set of stars in the line-up.
