Bradley Wright-Phillips' story about Thierry Henry
The clip starts with Henry saying to Wright-Phillips: âIâm not asking you to take the ball and dribble past everyone.â
Wright-Phillips replied: âOh, well, one time I remember⦠This is the best story!â
Knowing what was about to come, Henry said: âIn training? Oh no, youâre not doing it.â

âWeâre attacking, weâre doing build outâ¦â
Henry interrupted: âDonât name names!â

Wright-Phillips continued: âThe midfielders at the time, they werenât turning and werenât playing forward. I made the mistake of saying to T [Thierry Henry]: âHey⦠they were all moaning and saying, oh, itâs kind of tight. Itâs too tight.â
âThen T was like: âItâs not tightâ.
âAnd I go: âT, itâs kind of tightâ.
âHe looked at me like [stares].
âHeâs like: âOh, itâs too tight? Itâs too tight?â
âI was like: âIt seems it, theyâre strugglingâ.
âSo he runs back, gets the ball from the âkeeper, turns, bodies someone, dribbles past someone, plays me in, I score.
âI know now as Iâm jogging back, heâs going to be looking.
âI look and heâs like: âIs it still too tight?!â
âI was just like⦠bruh. Not everyone can do that. Itâs amazing.â
Henry, who can laugh about the incident now, said: âItâs tough as a player. For me, I could see that it wasnât tight because of my abilities and what I could see.â

Does Thierry Henry expect too much from players with less ability?
Henry went on to become a coach but struggled as a manager at both AS Monaco and Montreal Impact.
It was at Montreal Impact where a video of Henry barking out orders to his players on the touchline was shared across social media.
The Frenchman seemed to irked that his players werenât capable of doing the same things that he could as a player.
But Henry shouldnât forget the fact that heâs one of the greatest forwards weâve ever seen.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of footballers can only dream of doing some of the stuff that Henry used to do week-in week-out.
