Arsenal underlined their very real title credentials over the weekend as they beat Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners kept their place atop the Premier League standings on a glorious afternoon in the north London sunshine thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka.

Partey set the ball rolling with an absolute cracker-jack of a strike, devilishly whipping the ball into the top corner beyond a hapless Hugo Lloris.

Spurs managed to pin them back through a Harry Kane penalty but that was as good as it would get for the men in white as Arsenal clicked through the gears.

The Jesus goal was a scrappy affair, but Xhaka showed why he has quickly become one of the first names on the team-sheet with a very tidy finish indeed.

The incredible atmosphere inside the Emirates

The carnival atmosphere quickly grew to a resounding crescendo as Gooners made their voices heard.

Footage from inside the Emirates shows it was an electric atmosphere with the faithful on the terraces absolutely loving the swashbuckling brand of football that has sent them top of the league.

There were superb performances all round the pitch, with William Saliba in particular receiving a lot of praise for his towering showing at the heart of the rearguard.

Gabriel Martinelli puts in a brilliant performance vs Spurs

However, while Saliba and Xhaka hogged the lion's share of the headlines, a certain Gabriel Martinelli also registered a performance to be remembered.

He absolutely tormented Richarlison all game long, giving the Brazilian, who is not shy of a showboat himself, a healthy dose of his own medicine.

In fact, a clip of Martinelli buttering Ricarlison all over his toast has been doing the rounds on Twitter today and it's not a great look for the Spurs man.

Time and time again, Martinelli left Richarlison in his wake with a sultry touch or quick change of pace.

Brilliant - Martinelli was living his best life all day long.

Now, Arsenal will need to refocus as they prepare to welcome a wounded Liverpool to the bouncing Emirates.

Jurgen Klopp's side have looked woefully off colour this season and you can be sure Mikel Arteta and co. will smell blood.

Another three points would do very nicely indeed for the Gunners as they look to maintain their spot at the summit of the Premier League table.
