UFC newcomer Bo Nickal has made a bold statement regarding a possible retirement ahead of his full debut.

Ever since bursting onto the scene just a matter of months ago, Bo Nickal has become one of the most talked about fighters in all of mixed martial arts.

The 26-year-old amateur wrestling star is 3-0 in his pro career and, all things considered, is widely viewed as one of the best prospects the sport has ever seen.

Two of his three victories inside the cage thus far have come on the Contender Series, with the first victim being Zachary Borrego and the latest being Donovan Beard - with a submission win over the latter being what really got folks talking.

For his next trick, he’ll be appearing on the UFC 282 card at the end of the year as he goes head to head with Jamie Pickett. It’s another step up in competition but based on this kid’s confidence, we’d say he is heading into the meeting with the belief that he can run through just his fourth opponent in the MMA sphere.

Nobody really knows what kind of position the UFC is going to put him in on the card itself but as per Nickal, he’ll accept nothing less than a featured spot.

“Ariel. Am I a prelim guy? Alright, I’m not a prelim guy. If I have to fight on the prelims I’ll just retire, I’m done.”

“I don’t know if it’s in the contract but they’ll do the right thing, they’ll do the smart thing. Like I said, if I’m on the prelims, I’ll retire. I’m out.”

“I’ve seen them do it before, I’ve seen them do a bigger fight on the prelims and stuff, but I just, I don’t know. I’m a main card guy, it just doesn’t make sense. It’s Dana White’s Contender Series again but like, I’m main eventing Dana White’s Contender Series at 2-0. Every fight I’m in is the main event. So, they’re putting me on the main card.”

Taking a swing

As if Bo’s self belief wasn’t evident enough, the youngster has also opted to make his case for a future showdown with none other than Khamzat Chimaev.

‘Borz’ is currently on the verge of a welterweight title shot and won’t make the permanent switch up to 185 pounds just yet, but when he does, Nickal will be there waiting for him.
