Vince McMahon had conversations with Seth Rollins about changing his name before his retirement from WWE in July.

Similarly to how Bret 'The Hitman' Hart was presented, WWE changed Rollins' name to Seth 'Freakin' Rollins towards the end of last year.

The decision was exactly met well by fans, with many regarding the name change as pretty pointless and goofy, and it seems like Seth agreed.

What did Seth Rollins agree with Vince McMahon about his name?

Seth seemed to suggest during a recent interview that he thought WWE commentators were overusing the 'Freakin' part of his name, which fans would probably agree with.

The WWE Superstar told BT Sport that before Vince McMahon's departure from WWE, he asked if commentators could use the moniker less frequently, via WrestleTalk.

I had watched something back on Raw and maybe it was like a highlight on Twitter, and they just they said ‘Seth Freaking Rollins’, it had been a dozen times in 30 seconds. I’m like, ‘You gotta stop that. You’re gonna turn people off. That’s not what we want, you know?’

Rollins went on to tell Ariel Helwani that while Vince didn't completely agree to change his name, the ex-CEO said that commentary was able to call him 'Seth Rollins' again.

So he was like, ‘Okay. On the commentary, they can refer to you as Seth Rollins.’ I was like, ‘Alright, thank you.’

Does Seth Rollins want Triple H to change his name?

Matt Riddle, Rollins' current rival, was recently given his first name back, with Triple H noting that he wants the WWE product to have more 'realism' that it did under Vince.

As such, fans have speculated that HHH could do away with Rollins 'Freakin' nickname, something that Seth told BT Sport in the same interview that he doesn't know the status of.

So I don’t know. I don’t know if ‘Freakin” is staying or going. I’ve had many, many names and it’s all fine with me. It’s different. No one’s really working with a strong middle name right now. There aren’t any Bret ‘The Hitman’ Harts, you know?
