WWE released Oney Lorcan back in 2021, but he's now been brought back in a rather surprising new role.

Lorcan was one of the cuts from the NXT brand in November 2021, and has worked on the independent scene since then.

However, reports have now indicated that he's back within WWE, at least on a temporary basis, but not as an active performer.

What is Oney Lorcan now doing within WWE?

Oney Lorcan, who was described by Edge as "solid" after a match with Timothy Thatcher in 2020, is now working at the Performance Center as a guest.

The news was broken by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who is reporting that Lorcan is working as a coach at the training facility in a "guest" capacity as of right now.

It's worth noting that it doesn't seem like he's been rehired on a full-time basis just yet, but the fact he's been brought in as a guest coach could lead to a more permanent position in the future.

In fact, PWInsider's article notes that with how great he was in the ring, WWE would be smart to rehire Lorcan following his departure under Vince McMahon's regime 11 months ago.

Given how great he is inside the ring, it'd be a smart pickup for the company to bring him in full-time.

Lorcan can still work in the ring to a high level and seemingly also help train others, so bringing him back to WWE really would be smart business from the company.

Who else is Triple H returning to WWE?

Since becoming Head of Creative, Triple H has been keen to bring back ex-WWE stars, with Braun Strowman, Johnny Gargano, Karrion Kross and several more having returned recently.

However, 'The Game' doesn't seem to be done when it comes to bringing back names that were either released or walked away during Vince McMahon's time running WWE.

Bray Wyatt, if reports from Fightful Select are to be believed, will be returning to WWE this month, possibly at early as Extreme Rules on Saturday night.

The pay-per-view is set to see the subject of the cryptic 'White Rabbit' teases revealed, which reports from the Wrestling Observer have all indicated is widely expected to be about Bray.
