His low cross looked like it would be put into an empty net by Fashion Sakala.But Tsimikas denied Rangers a goal as he produced a quite extraordinary clearance.The Greek defender put his body on the line as he flew into the air and somehow managed to hook the ball over the bar and out for a corner.Tsimikas went flying into the back of the net but, fortunately, was unhurt. Liverpool up to second in Group A
Liverpool went on to see out the game and pick up a deserved all three points.
They have now accrued six points from their opening three games in Group A.
The Reds are positioned in second, three points behind Napoli, who smashed Ajax 6-1 on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool are back in Champions League action next week when they travel to Scotland to take on Rangers again.
