The US Government hilariously thought that Ronda Rousey had legitimately been arrested during a WWE show.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the US government worked on getting celebrities to film videos for their fans to educate them on the health crisis and what they could do to help.

One of the people that was considered was Rousey, but a storyline arrest on WWE TV in 2019 seemingly prevented that from happening.

Why didn't the US Government work with Ronda Rousey in 2020?

As noted, during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Donald Trump administration drew up a list of celebrities to send out public service announcements, as reported by Politico.

In 2020, the House Oversight Committee released a document which included a list of several celebrities who might be worth contacting about these PSAs.

The list also included information about the celebrities' political allegiances, as well as some notes on their personal history, which included Ronda Rousey.

In the additional notes section next to the former UFC star's name, it says that she was arrested during a WWE event in 2019, as you can see below, which was shared by Sports Illustrated at the time.

Why did the US Government think that Ronda Rousey had been arrested?

During the final Raw episode before WrestleMania 35 in 2019, Becky Lynch, Ronda and Charlotte Flair were all arrested (in storyline) after a wild brawl to help build their big main event.

Of course, the trio weren't really arrested and this was all part of the scripted TV show, but the Trump administration seemingly thought it was legitimate.

You can see footage of the segment in which the US government thought that Rousey had been legitimately arrested below...
