Brock Lesnar's UFC 141 weigh-in got a great reaction from Joe Rogan

Even to the naked eye, on-screen, Brock Lesnar is a quite the athlete; a physical freak of nature if you will – not that we would say that to his face, of course.

It is only when sharing the same room as the 45-year-old South Dakota native, however, that his true size and sheer jaw-dropping physique becomes that little bit more evident.

Joe Rogan can attest to that.

As we have documented many times, UFC‘s resident royalty is known more for his words on the mic, but on one occasion in particular it was his facial expression that did all the talking as Lesnar weighed-in for his MMA return at end of 2011.

Joe Rogan loved Brock Lesnar’s weigh-in

Preparing to face Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on December 30 of that year, Lesnar, the former unified heavyweight champion, was making his comeback from a year’s absence due to diverticulitis.

Build-up to the fight was laced in controversy as Overeem submitted two ‘unacceptable’ drug tests to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which resulted in the Londoner being granted a conditional license to fight only weeks before the bout.

At the weigh-in, however, it was Lesnar who stole back the limelight.

In a moment recaptured on social media by Twitter user @_MMAMindset, Lesnar looked in arguably more ominous shape than ever before – for Overeem at least.

As The Beast weighed in at 266lbs, Rogan, ringmaster for the ceremony, gnashed his teeth at the sheer spectacle before him, before turning to ring girl Arianny Celeste in further amazement at Lesnar’s size.

Despite his dominant figure, it was in fact Overeem who took his opponent down a little over 24 hours later, as he won via TKO in the opening round.

Taking Lesnar down with a stern kick to his surgically-repaired stomach mid-way through the opener, Overeem rushed in with flurry of punches before referee Mario Yamasaki waved the contest off.

Post-fight, Lesnar mentioned his health struggles before announcing to the media that “tonight was the last time you’ll see me in the Octagon.” He stayed true to his word. Sort of.

Shortly after, Lesnar confirmed he had re-signed with the WWE.

Though lured back to UFC in 2016, images of him on the scales some decade ago still live in the memory.

Indeed, Joe Rogan may still be hyped by them to this day.
