Erling Haaland is playing football from another planet right now. There were already suspicions that the goalscoring phenomena who thrived at Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund would find the back of the net for fun with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, but we didn't know that it would be quite to this extent. On back of scoring his third Premier League hat-trick of the season against Manchester United, Haaland must have been rubbing his hands together at the prospect of Copenhagen making the trip to the Etihad Stadium in mid-week.

Haaland continues scoring streak vs Copenhagen

The Danish giants came into the match with just a single point and zero goals scored in the group stages, leading to Guardiola encouraging his side to tighten the screw with a remarkably high line.

The result was intense attacking pressure from the off and none other than Mr. Haaland scoring what felt like his ten-millionth goal of the season before there were even 10 minutes on the clock.

An incisive pass into the area from Joao Cancelo was all that Haaland needed to open his account, sweeping an emphatic finish Kamil Grabara on his supposedly weaker right foot.

However, true to the Norwegian poacher scoring a goal every 10 seconds at the moment, he wasn't satisfied with just a single strike as he went chasing after another hat-trick.

In fact, the Citizens eventually went into the break 3-0 up with Haaland doubling his money by gobbling up a strike on the rebound, while an own goal rounded off the dramatic first 45 minutes.

But even better than Haaland's second goal itself was the reaction that it brought out from Guardiola, who often cuts a reserved and earnest figure in his technical area.

Nevertheless, much in the way that Robert Lewandowski's iconic five goals in nine minutes saw the legendary manager break character, Haaland was able to leave his coach in a state of shock by scoring yet again.

It really did make for an amusing moment where Guardiola, frankly, reacted like all of us did back at home, so be sure to check out his brilliant response for yourself down below:

Superb. You love to see it.

A deadly partnership

At this point, Haaland's collaboration with City and Guardiola is shaping up to be one of the greatest that modern football has ever seen - and we're seriously not overstating things.

While the cliché goes that anyone could score if they were playing up front for the Citizens, the 22-year-old's goalscoring record is just too alien at this point for it to simply be down to the system he's playing in.

With Guardiola taking the wise decision to substitute Haaland at half-time with his work very much done, the future Ballon d'Or winner consolidated a head-spinning stats sheet of 19 goals in just 12 games.

There really is good reason to believe at this stage that Haaland will bulldoze through a list of Premier League and Champions League records as long as his arm across the 2022/23 season.

Just as Guardiola's amazing reaction illustrated, there's just no stopping him right now.
