Erling Haaland is on a mission to break every goalscoring record in the book right now.

Now that the 22-year-old has been placed at the head of a truly world-class team for the first time in his career, you can't help but feel as though there really is no ceiling to what he can achieve.

Such is the production line of creativity and chances at Manchester City that Haaland is practically up to his ears with the exact kind of opportunities that he gobbles up for breakfast.

Haaland scores brace vs Copenhagen

With the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden and countless others peppering the penalty area with incisive passes, it's no wonder that Haaland is gorging himself on goals.

The Norwegian phenomena already has the goalscoring record for a 38-game Premier League season in his crosshair having opened up with 14 strikes from just eight matches in the division.

And he's been just as lethal in the Champions League, opening his account with a brace at Sevilla before punishing former side Borussia Dortmund with an acrobatic winner.

As such, nobody was surprised at all to see that Haaland was anything short of deadly when Copenhagen made the trip to the Etihad Stadium for City's latest European clash.

The ex-Red Bull Salzburg forward opened the scoring after just seven minutes with a lethal right-footed finish, before doubling his money by dispatching a rebound from a Sergio Gómez strike.

And with that, Pep Guardiola decided to bring him off at half-time as part of a tactical substitution, therefore locking in Haaland's record at an unbelievable 19 goals in 12 games for the time being.

Haaland helps out the referee mid-game

However, such is the omnipotence of Haaland right now that you can rest assured that he contributed more than 'just' two goals across his 45-minute hit and run against the Danes.

In fact, Haaland was so on the ball throughout the Champions League clash that he even had time to help out the referee before joining one of City's attacks because, well, he could.

In remarkable footage that sums up just how easy everything is for him right now, Haaland can be seen picking up what appears to be the referee's foam can after it had hit the turf.

The City star can be seen actively going out of his way to pick up the object and throw it towards the match official during the build-up play, before then duly getting himself into the box.

It really did make for the umpteen-millionth reminder that Haaland can do no wrong right now, so be sure to check out his unexpected exchange with the referee for yourself down below:

Is there anything Haaland can't do?

You know you're absolutely bossing it when you have time to do a favour for the referee all while continuing to attack as you normally would. Take a bow, Erling.

While, naturally, the moment would have been even more incredible had Haaland proceeded to score as soon as he returned to business, it's nevertheless an amusing exchange to witness.

Plus, you might have noticed that 31 minutes and a few seconds were on the clock, which means that the referee shenanigans happened mere moments before he bagged his second goal of the night.

And given that Guardiola was keen to put his star striker back on ice just a few minutes afterwards, Southampton should be very, very scared about what they're walking into on Saturday.
