Jack Grealish has come on leaps and bounds in his second season at Manchester City.
The dynamic and inventive England star struggled with the limelight of his British record transfer to the Etihad Stadium last year, but now looks to have settled into Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
Although fans are still eagerly anticipating the avalanche of goals and assists that they saw from him at Aston Villa, there’s no denying that he’s getting better with each and every game in sky blue.
Grealish and Haaland thriving at Man City
Besides, that upward trajectory was there for everyone to see on Wednesday night as City extended their 100% record in the Champions League so far this season against Copenhagen.
The Premier League champions ran away 5-0 victors courtesy of goals Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez, an own goal from Davit Khocholava and a brace by a certain someone who’s only made Grealish’s life a lot easier.
We are, of course, talking about the one and only Erling Haaland who extended his City record to a barely-believable 19 goals from just 12 games with another two strikes in mid-week.
And while Grealish didn’t turn provider for either of the finishes on this occasion, it was nevertheless crystal-clear that both City stars are loving every minute of their football together right now.
What did the Copenhagen GK say about Haaland?
As such, when Grealish was put in front of the BT Sport microphone for his post-match interview, it was only inevitable that Haaland’s scintillating form was discussed as well as his own.
In what made for a generally engrossing chat in which it was nice to see the ever-personable Grealish looking really positive and excited, the 27-year-old also touched on the magnificence of Haaland right now.
In fact, Grealish even revealed that Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara – formerly of Liverpool – had quipped that Haaland isn’t human having been so impressed by one of his goals.
“It’s unbelievable, honestly,” Grealish explained to BT. “I’ve never witnessed anything like it in my life. For the first and second goals I was just laughing. He is always there.
“The keeper said something to me as I was walking back. He said: ‘he’s not human.’ I said: ‘you’re telling me.’ Hopefully he can carry on this form and take us to glory.”

Everyone is blown away by Haaland
You can just hear in the way that Grealish speaks about his teammate just how blown away he is, as we all are, by his breath-taking start to the season.
After all, it’s getting to the point where every man and their dog is struggling to work out on how earth you can possibly stop the Norwegian phenomena.
And when his own teammates are left scratching their heads as well, it couldn’t be any clearer that all the ingredients are there for Haaland to win one, two, three or even more Ballon d’Or trophies in his career.
Throw in the fact that many of the players around him are thriving too with Grealish proving the perfect example and we dread to think how many goals he might have scored come next summer.
