Aaron Rodgers has made a big claim about his future in the NFL, with the Green Bay Packers quarterback hinting that it will be other people who decide whether he comes back or not.

The Green Bay Packers couldn’t have asked for anything better when they drafted Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 NFL Draft, even if it took them a few years before they were able to see what he could do on the professional level as they waited for Brett Favre to retire.

But coming into the season with 55,360 passing yards, 449 touchdowns under his belt in a career that saw him win a Super Bowl back in 2010 and 4 NFL MVP awards, he has more or less single-handedly brought the Packers back to relevance when it comes to competing for titles after the organisation hadn’t won one since 1996.

Although things haven’t exactly always gone smooth when it comes to Rodgers and his relationship with the organisation, with plenty of drama behind the scenes that have at times meant that there has been speculation that he wanted to leave the team and take his talents somewhere else.

All that was put behind him though this summer as he and the team agreed to a new deal that will see him tied down for the near future.

Aaron Rodgers has one final demand

However, speaking recently (via Madison.com), Rodgers claims that the performances of the players on the team will have a big impact on whether or not he comes back to the Packers next season, stating:

Look, my decision, when it comes down to it, will be, obviously, the physical part, the mental part, seeing where the team is at. … There’s some moving pieces that’ll factor in, for sure. But seeing the development of those guys can’t help but be a part of the decision.

Now speaking during the preseason (via ESPN), Rodgers made it very clear that he wasn’t too happy with how the receivers were doing, saying "the young guys, especially young receivers, we've got to be way more consistent. A lot of drops, a lot of bad route decisions, running the wrong route. We've got to get better in that area."

And things have gotten better in recent weeks, but it looks as if Rodgers has set one big demand for them for the rest of the season. Either perform to my standards, or you’ll have to deal with a lesser quarterback moving forward.
