WWE is set to welcome back Bray Wyatt this week, with a return at Extreme Rules rumoured to be on the cards.

Fightful Select is reporting that the 'White Rabbit' teases, which are rumoured to be leading to Bray's return, will be paid off at Extreme Rules.

This will be Bray's first appearance for any wrestling company since April 2021, but it has emerged that despite his lengthy absence, he hasn't been short of suitors.

Latest news on Bray Wyatt

Bray hasn't worked for a wrestling company since leaving WWE in July 2021, but that isn't because he was short of suitors.

In fact, Freddie Prinze Jr, who used to write for WWE, has revealed that he approached Bray about being involved in his new wrestling company.

Prinze Jr is working on a new TV-style wrestling company, and revealed on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast that he wanted Bray to be involved, sending him a "creative offer", via WrestleTalk.

Everybody knows that I love Bray and it was basically reported that I was the one that made the offer, and sure, I’ll confirm. I’ve put out an offer there and I think it’s a creative offer. Financially I wouldn’t be able to compete with the WWE, but I’ve put other things in there that I think are important to Bray.

The former WWE writer explained that he doesn't think he'll be able to secure Bray's services though, with a return to Triple H's promotion looking the most likely option for the 35-year-old.

I don’t think I’m going to get it as the weeks go on, but we’ll see. You never know, and if I don’t, then I’ll shift gears again like I did the last time. It’s a speed bump in the road and I will find the next person and rework the story to make it work for that.

Is Bray Wyatt returning to WWE?

As noted, it’s been reported that Bray is coming back to WWE on Saturday night during the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event.

As soon as Vince McMahon departed from WWE in July, PWTorch reported that Bray was likely to return to the wrestling giant, proving just how bad his rapport with the ex-WWE CEO had got.

To add to that, Fightful reported that the relationship between Bray and McMahon was so broken, with Vince even verbally berating the ex-WWE star about his weight backstage at shows.

The report also noted that Wyatt could call out McMahon for his booking decisions when he didn’t agree with the creative of his various characters, which happened a lot during the end of his time with WWE.
