Ronaldo has frustrating evening

Ronaldo was looking to score his 700th club goal of his career in Cyprus.

But, despite his best efforts, he could not find a way past Fabiano in what was a hugely frustrating night for the Portuguese striker.

Ronaldo had eight shots against the Cypriot side but could not find the back of the net.

His best chance came in the 78th minute.

Diogo Dalot pulled the ball back for Ronaldo and it looked almost certain that he would score from just a few yards out.

The legendary striker produced a first time shot but his effort cannoned off the post, rebounded off him and straight into the arms of a relieved Fabiano.

Ronaldo's face said it all. He could not believe it.
