Lucas Paqueta played a key role as West Ham beat Anderlecht in their Europa Conference League clash on Thursday evening.

The Brazilian was named on the bench for his side's trip to Belgium.

He entered the fray in the 69th minute with the deadlock yet to be broken.

Paqueta went on to assist Gianluca Scamacca's goal in the 79th minute.

The Italian's strike turned out to be the winner as West Ham ran out 1-0 winners.

Paqueta's electric cameo

Paqueta is known for being one of the most skilful players in world football and that was on full display at Lotto Park.

He managed to produce a touch that left teammate Aaron Cresswell going crazy.

A diagonal ball was pinged to Paqueta and he produced the filthiest of touches to bring it down perfectly.

A reverse angle captured the reactions of West Ham players on the bench and Cresswell was absolutely loving it.

So, so naughty.

That wasn't the only piece of brilliance Paqueta conjured up during his short time on the pitch.

He also embarrassed Michael Amir Murillo with a silky nutmeg.

David Moyes: We deserved the victory

West Ham have maintained their 100% record in Group B having won all three of their matches this campaign.

They now have a foot in the knockout rounds and Moyes was happy with his side's performance.

"Anderlecht hadn’t conceded any goals in the group stage previously, so it was always going to be tight. We missed a hatful of opportunities to score and made it a bit scary for ourselves, but overall I thought we deserved the victory," he said, per West Ham's official website.

"I don’t think you’re seeing anybody win by big margins in this competition, football throughout Europe is really competitive and it was another tough game tonight.

"We want to try and get going – I think the players are beginning to show signs of getting back to form.

"We’re beginning to get one or two goals. I think we should be scoring more, but a clean sheet and the team winning is always good."
