WWE offered Renee Paquette a deal to return to the company, but she had no interest in doing so, it has been claimed.

Triple H recently continued his shake-up of WWE by making several changes to the commentary and wider broadcast teams for Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

However, it seems like the new make-up of the broadcast teams isn't what 'The Game' was originally planning.

Did WWE try and sign Renee Paquette?

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Triple H attempted to bring Renee Paquette (formerly Renee Young) back into the company recently.

Meltzer explained in his Sports Illustrated column that Paquette had no interest in coming back to WWE, so rejected the company's offer for her return.

WWE had contacted her to return as it shook up its announcing teams this past week for the new television season, which started Friday night. When she turned down the offer, those in WWE had noted that they believed she was headed to AEW.

The report explains that people within WWE are of the belief that Paquette turned down their offer because she's heading to AEW.

Paquette is married to AEW Champion Jon Moxley, and it's believed that she's coming into the company as part of her husband signing his new five-year deal.

What are the new commentary teams that Triple H has assembled?

Variety originally reported on several commentary team changes made by Triple H, which WWE later confirmed.

Below are the new commentary teams for WWE shows, with Pat McAfee expected to return to SmackDown once the college football season ends.

  • Raw – Kevin Patrick & Corey Graves
  • SmackDown – Michael Cole & Wade Barrett
  • NXT – Vic Joseph & Booker T
  • Premium Live Events – Michael Cole & Corey Graves

WWE was successful in its attempts to bring back another popular backstage figure, with Cathy Kelley returning to reunite with Triple H after her departure from NXT in 2020.

The 34-year-old backstage interviewer will serve as one of the correspondents on WWE Raw, alongside Byron Saxton, which she did during last night's show.

The changes saw Jimmy Smith axed from his Raw announcing role, which Vince McMahon gave him last year, with the former MMA commentator being replaced by Kevin Patrick.

Smith has since confirmed that he's completely done with WWE, and will not be remaining with the company in any capacity.
