Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is dealing with setbacks almost every week right now, according to insider Dean Jones.

The Reds boss saw his side's terrible start to the season continue at Arsenal on Sunday and was then hit with some bad injury news the following day.

What happened against Arsenal?

Liverpool travelled to north London on a four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, but they'd only won three times in the top-flight, which means the hosts were favourites.

And just like against Brighton eight days earlier, the Reds were caught cold early on when Gabriel Martinelli put the Gunners 1-0 ahead.

Darwin Nunez did restore parity as Klopp's men improved as the half wore on, but Martinelli's pace once again caused problems on the stroke of half-time when he picked out Bukayo Saka to put Arsenal back in front.

Roberto Firmino equalised for the second time just after the interval, but Saka's late penalty leaves the Anfield club 14 points behind the leaders, which looks to have already ended their title hopes.

But there was worse to come for Klopp, who'll now be without Luis Diaz until after the World Cup, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, who hobbled off at the Emirates, and Joel Matip, are facing a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

What did Jones say about Liverpool?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Almost every week it feels like there is a setback for Jurgen Klopp at the moment, and it's like he starts to solve one part of his puzzle and then something else is messed up and he's got to come back around to sort out that dilemma."

Do Liverpool have any other injury worries?

Injuries to Alexander-Arnold, Matip and Diaz come at the worst possible time for Liverpool, with a game every three or four days for the next month or so before the World Cup.

Not only that, but Klopp is also already without a host of other first-team players.

Midfield quartet Curtis Jones, Arthur Melo, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all currently on the sidelines, reducing the German's options in the middle, although in better news, Andy Robertson is on the verge of returning from an injury lay-off of his own.

The added absences of the three players that got injured at Arsenal could force Klopp to bring some youngsters into his squad in the weeks ahead.
