Bari Boroumand is a race winner in F1 Esports after taking his first victory at Spa on Thursday evening.

The McLaren Shadow driver started on the front row alongside Frede Rasmussen and would take victory ahead of the Red Bull driver, in the process bringing another victory to the team to add to Lucas Blakeley's opening double salvo in Event One in September.

Rasmussen, as he did in Austria, started from pole but, as he didn't in Austria, held onto P1 in the opening exchanges at Spa-Francorchamps, with Boroumand filing in behind in second place, whilst Josh Idowu was in third.

Blakeley, meanwhile, worked his way through the front runners quickly, using the medium tyres to his advantage, though he would pit earlier than the rest of the runners on hards and drop back down the order, hoping that when those in front came to pitting he'd be able to get back past.

That is what happened but, of course, Blakeley was now on the hard tyres with most on the grippier medium tyres behind him, and he did not have a big enough gap to keep hold of his lead, with him eventually dropping down to P4 by the end of the race.

His team-mate Bouroumand, who had overtaken him, would go onto victory ahead of Rasmussen, who was pushing him hard right to the very end, whilst Idowu also got past Blakeley before the end of the race.

Blakeley remains at the top of the standings on 85 points, ahead of Rasmussen on 80. Thomas Ronhaar is third with 61 points whilst Boroumand is fourth on 52.

The third and final race of the second event gets going on Friday at Zandvoort.
