Football Manager director Miles Jacobson has revealed his delight at being able to bring FM23 to more and more platforms after the announcement that the game would come out on PlayStation 5 and Apple Arcade.

The new game is coming out on November 8th, and there has been confirmation that the game is going to continue to release on Xbox, along with PC, and is also coming to both Apple Arcade and PS5.

That will allow so many more players to dive into the world of management, picking a club and cracking on from there.

Miles sat down with GMS to talk all things Football Manager and he is delighted to be bringing the game to more storefronts.

Indeed, FM22 was released on Xbox last year and was also added to Game Pass so players could play it for free if they had a subscription.

Miles has revealed that the development teams for the PC game and the console game are completely distinct.

As a result, the two teams are able to share ideas, with those developing the game for Xbox and PS5, coming up with the new Dynamic Manager Timeline.

Miles has revealed that development has also focused mainly on ensuring that the game works well on a console controller, as opposed to a keyboard and mouse.

He told GMS exclusively: “I’m obviously delighted to be able to entertain more people via PlayStation 5. And Apple arcade. And I think Apple Arcade is going to be huge for us. We now have a dedicated console team in the studios.

"So, you know, the console team are able to take features from FM should they want to, and vice versa. So it was the console team who came up with dynamic manager timeline, for example, and then the PC team like yeah, we’ll have this.

“So that's great. Having distinct dev teams in the studio is going to really help us moving forward as well. But it means that a lot more time has been spent working on the controller system. Yeah, which was good on Xbox last year, but is way, way, way better this year. gives much better experience for people playing the game.”
