Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest football players of all time and is thus one of the biggest names on the planet, with people from all walks of life knowing who he is, to say he’s a household name would be incredibly understated.

Another man considered one of the greatest of all time in his sport is Khabib Nurmagomedov, with the Russian UFC star visiting Old Trafford in the past and clearly has some admiration for the famous number seven.

Khabib retired with a perfect record from the UFC, with many believing he is the greatest to ever step foot in the Octagon, but he has clearly been keeping busy since walking away from the sport that made him a global superstar, enjoying his free time to do what he wants, but he is clearly aiming to stay in shape by playing football.

Cristiano Ronaldo SIU celebration copied by Khabib Nurmagomedov

Footage has emerged recently of Khabib playing football, he’s just having a classic kick about on the astroturf, but he clearly takes it seriously when playing.

That competitive streak runs deep in him, like it does all sporting greats, so when he scores a goal, you fully expect him to celebrate, and celebrate he does.

The footage has thankfully caught the former UFC champion recreating the iconic ‘SIU’ celebration from Ronaldo, although it doesn’t look as well executed as the Portuguese forward’s efforts.

It just goes to show not only the influence Ronaldo has on the world and how well known his signature celebration is, but also how icons in other sports clearly hold him in high regard with everything he has achieved on the pitch.

Khabib isn’t the first person to copy the SIU celebration, nor will he be the last, with examples popping up regularly of people performing their own version, with plenty of people loving to recreate it when playing five-a-side or Sunday league football.

On top of that, Ronaldo saying ‘SIU’ has been used in multiple memes, so the celebration has definitely taken the world by storm, whether that be with your mates, whilst playing the sport yourself, with the celebration even trickling into the repertoire of other sporting stars! We saw Ricky Evans go viral almost a year ago, with the darts ace performing the celebration on the Ally Pally stage following his victory at the World Championships.
