WWE welcomed Rhea Ripley back to the ring over the weekend after she suffered a horror brain injury in June.

On the June 4 episode of Raw, Ripley suffered a scary brain injury and teeth injury after kneeing herself in the face.

And now, over four months later, Rhea has only just returned to the ring for her first match since being cleared to wrestle again.

Latest news on Rhea Ripley

As noted, Rhea is able to be utilised by Triple H as an in-ring wrestler for the first time as the Australian has been cleared to return to the ring.

Over the weekend, Rhea competed in two Live Event matches, teaming with Damian Priest as the pair lost to the surprising duo of Nikki A.S.H and Dolph Ziggler.

While Ripley may have lost both matches, fans will still be delighted by the fact that she's back in the ring, particularly considering the nature of her injury.

It was never clear what the exact issue with Rhea was, but she revealed in June that she was dealing with a brain injury, so it was clearly something serious.

Rhea will now be able to wrestle her first TV match for WWE under Triple H, with Ripley's last match coming under Vince McMahon's regime.

Ripley has still been a featured part of Raw under Triple H as part of Judgement Day, and he showed a liking to her during their time in NXT, so expect her to be one of The Game's featured female stars.

What does WWE have planned for Rhea Ripley?

At the time of writing, WWE has not announced a match for Rhea on TV, but the Wrestling Observer has suggested that she could face Roxanne Perez during tomorrow night's big episode of NXT.

Beyond that, it's also been rumoured that Ripley will be facing Beth Phoenix at some point in the near future, as part of Judgement Day's feud with Edge.

Phoenix got involved with Edge's match with Finn Balor at Extreme Rules, with Ripley hitting the WWE Hall of Famer with a nasty chairshot to the heat.

Now that Rhea has been cleared to step back into the ring, the door has been opened for the 26-year-old to finally have a match with Beth, as has been rumoured to be the plan for months now.
