Darwin Nunez has made an... interesting start to life at Liverpool.

The striker arrived at Anfield for a club-record £85 million from Benfica after 26 goals in 28 Primeira Liga matches.

And he got off to the perfect start with a goal in the Community Shield as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1. He followed that up with a goal and an assist on his Premier League debut as he came off the bench to rescue a point for Liverpool against Fulham.

He was rewarded with a start in Liverpool's second Premier League game of the campaign, a home match against Crystal Palace.

However, his crazy headbutt on defender Joachim Andersen earned him a three-match ban and left him needing to restart his Liverpool career.

In recent weeks, he's managed that.

A goal away to Arsenal in the Premier League as well as another during the 7-1 Champions League victory over Rangers restored his reputation amongst Liverpool fans.

That brings us to last weekend's 18-minute cameo against Manchester City.

Nunez came on against City with the aim to help Liverpool see out their 1-0 lead. While Jurgen Klopp's side managed that, the Uruguayan was criticised for some of the decision-making in the latter stages. At one point, all he had to do was roll the ball to Salah during a three-on-one situation who would have surely made it 2-0. He inexplicably attempted to score himself.

It seems the jury is still very much out on Nunez.

Is he really good? Or is he really bad? Or is he somewhere in between?

Well, a graphic that Sky Sports published on Wednesday afternoon seems to suggest the former - that Nunez is, in fact, really good.

The graphic shows Nunez's stats this season in the Premier League. It shows that he ranks 1st in shots, 1st in touches in the opposition's box, 1st in percent of touches in the opponent's box, 1st in non-penalty expected goals and 2nd per 90 minutes from all players to have played 200+ minutes.

What does that mean?

Well, it means that Nunez has created problems for opponents and is getting himself in goalscoring situations. While they may not have returned Erling Haaland-like number of goals it's certainly a good sign.

What Sky Sports probably didn't expect is the reaction their post on Instagram received with thousands of comments - and counting.

Perhaps Sky Sports journalist, Melissa Reddy, summed it up best by sharing the graphic with the caption: "Darwin Núñez is... interesting. What he fails to do is quite some watch, but what else he's doing is quite... effective?!"
