Beth Mead played a crucial part in England's fairytale Euro 2022 triumph this summer.

Mead was named the Player of the Tournament and awarded the Golden Boot after bagging six goals and five assists.

Her Euro 2022 heroics also saw her nominated for the Ballon d'Or — she finished just one point behind two-time winner Alexia Putellas.

The London-born diver scooped three medals this summer — a gold in the 10m platform and the mixed synchronised 10m platform alongside Noah Williams, as well as silver in the women's synchronised 10m platform event with Eden Cheng.

Spendolini-Sirieix became the first English woman to win the individual 10m platform gold since 1966. She then went on to become European champion in the same event, bagging two golds and a bronze overall at the European Championships.

The Meatball has enjoyed the comeback of a lifetime after three iconic wins back-to-back.

Last September, McCann beat Ji Yeon Kim to secure her future in the UFC and she went on to produce two stunning knockout performances in 2022.

Her new signature move of the spinning back elbow knocked out both Luana Carolina and Hannah Goldy in consecutive victories.

The Liverpudlian is also promoting the 'Weapons Down, Gloves Up' initiative, which works to help get young adults and kids on Merseyside away from gang culture and into full-time employment.

She clocked a new British record of 14.48 in the 5km road race in Dubai, smashing the previous best time of 14.51 set by Paula Radcliffe in 2003.

McColgan broke two more records set by Radcliffe — a European 10km and a half marathon best.

During the summer, she won her first ever major title at the Commonwealth Games, coming first in the 10km event.

Unfortunately, McColgan's record set at the 2022 Great Scottish Run has been chalked off after the track was discovered to be 150m short.
