Celtic teenager Bosun Lawal has left key decision-makers behind the scenes 'very impressed' with the progress he is making at Parkhead, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

Although the Bhoys spent more than £20million during the summer transfer window, it seems an up-and-coming youngster could break into the first-team in the not-too-distant future.

What's the latest news involving Lawal?

Lawal has not made his Celtic debut yet, but it appears he could work his way into the plans of Ange Postecoglou - who took over as the club's boss last year - soon.

According to The Scottish Sun, he was called in to train with the first-team last month as the Glasgow giants were made to contend with an injury crisis.

The report suggests the seven-cap Republic of Ireland under-19 international linked up with the senior stars at Lennoxtown after fellow defenders Cameron Carter-Vickers or Carl Starfelt were forced onto the treatment table.

Lawal joined Celtic from Watford last year and has been making an impact for the club's B team as he looks to earn his stripes north of the border.

Despite being a centre-half, he headed into the weekend having found the back of the net five times and registered a further two assists in 11 appearances this season.

What has Anthony Joseph said about Lawal?

Joseph understands that Lawal is highly-rated by those working behind the scenes at Celtic.

The Sky Sports journalist believes the youthful talent has already developed well since joining the Bhoys from Watford and he has a bright future ahead of him.

Joseph told GIVEMESPORT: "I've certainly heard a lot of good things about Bosun Lawal.

"I think there's a lot of people within the club who are very impressed with the progress he's making."

Will Lawal make his breakthrough at Celtic this season?

It is understood that Celtic parted with a compensation fee of £150,000 in order to lure Lawal away from Watford last year and that could prove to be a bargain.

Having watched the starlet during his time as Watford's captain, Troy Deeney tipped the 19-year-old for a successful career and even compared him to Abdoulaye Doucoure.

That is no mean feat and bodes well for Celtic, particularly considering Doucoure cost Premier League side Everton £20million two years ago.

Former Celtic B team boss Tommy McIntyre has also described Lawal as a 'real find' and, with that being the case, his first senior appearance should be just around the corner.
