Xavi produced a brilliant touch during Barcelona's convincing La Liga victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday evening.

Barca were looking to make it two wins from two and cut the gap to Real Madrid at the top of the table to three points once more.

They did just that as they crushed their opponents at Camp Nou.

Barca found themselves 3-0 up inside 22 minutes thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembele, Sergi Roberto and Robert Lewandowski.

Ferran Torres' 73rd minute strike put gloss on the result and rounded out a satisfactory evening for the Catalan giants.

Xavi showed he's still got it during the first half of the match.

Unai Simon raced out of his goal in the 31st minute and cleared the ball with his left foot.

The ball almost went into orbit and landed at the feet of Xavi, who stopped it dead with a majestic touch.

Xavi: The game was over at half-time

Xavi spoke to the media after the game and he was happy with his side's performance.

"We understood the game very well. We expected a game with a lot of intensity played at a high rhythm. We knew they would press high so we put in another midfielder to outnumber them through the middle. We wanted an extra man in midfield. I think the key, though, was that we matched them in intensity. Dembele was also good, he made the difference. The team understood what was needed. It was practically over by half time," He said, per Sport.

"Camp Nou has to be a fortress and the atmosphere today was spectacular. We have to take advantage of it. Playing like this, with this intensity, the points will stay at home. This is the way to go."
