Liverpool star Darwin Nunez 'causes such chaos' at Anfield and 'defenders hate marking him', according to journalist Dean Jones.

The striker was among four fresh faces to head to Merseyside during the summer transfer window and has already made an impact in his new surroundings.

What's the latest news involving Nunez?

Nunez became Liverpool's club-record signing when he sealed an £85million switch from Portuguese giants Benfica in June.

However, he was not part of the matchday squad as the Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed Nunez narrowly missed out on being in contention for the trip to the City Ground after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

The 23-year-old's absence came just a matter of days after grabbing what proved to be the winner with a textbook header against West Ham United.

Nunez has already found the back of the net five times and registered one assist in 12 Liverpool appearances.

What has Dean Jones said about Nunez?

Jones believes Nunez is unpredictable and, while that could go against him at times, it means he is capable of causing havoc for opponents.

The transfer insider feels the Uruguayan is unlike any other player Klopp currently has at his disposal.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "He is a really difficult player to judge because, on one hand, he's firing shots left, right and centre all over the place and you just wonder if it's hit and hope.

"Sometimes it does look like it, but he causes such chaos and defenders hate marking him. He is completely different to any other Liverpool player in the squad."

Will Nunez be a success at Liverpool?

Nunez has already won the Community Shield since linking up with Liverpool, but there is no doubt that the Reds will be calling on him to lead the club to even more silverware.

Considering he scored 34 goals in 41 appearances for Benfica last season, he has already shown that he knows where the back of the net is.

If Nunez can rediscover that kind of form and confidence at Anfield, it will bode well for a Liverpool side which already finds itself 12 points adrift of Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.

The frontman, who penned a contract worth £140,000-per-week when he headed to Merseyside during the summer, has also recovered from a home debut to forget.

Nunez was sent off for headbutting Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen, but he has responded with goals and Klopp will be asking for more of the same.
