Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions has confirmed that Georges St-Pierre will serve as co-host for his fight against Anderson Silva.

This Saturday night in Arizona, Jake Paul will face his toughest test yet in the boxing realm as he prepares to lock horns with Anderson Silva.

The man known as ‘The Spider’ is considered to be one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, and despite being 47 years old, he’s still an incredibly dangerous opponent - especially since transitioning over to the squared circle.

Paul is seen to be a considerable underdog by the masses and by contrast, Silva is looked at as the person who can finally bring an end to the celebrity/YouTube boxing era.

It’s going to be the kind of wacky collision that only comes around a few times every year, and if you’d gone back in time and told combat sports fans that this would take place, very few would’ve believed you.

One giant leap

Showtime is hyping this up to be quite the event and understandably so given how much ‘The Problem Child’ has been able to build up his brand recently.

Now, in their latest move to bring over some more MMA interest, they’ve added Georges St-Pierre to the list of big names who will have a role to play in the show.

MVP: “We are honored to announce UFC legend GSP @GeorgesStPierre will be the official co-host of #PaulSilva”

Paul: “Welcome to the show legend @GeorgesStPierre - appreciate you for co-hosting.”

GSP’s motives

This is probably just another fun opportunity for Georges St-Pierre to explore but when you take one look at the shape he’s kept himself in since retiring, it’s not outrageous to think he could make a comeback of his own.

The former UFC welterweight and middleweight king entertained the idea of boxing Oscar De La Hoya just last year and with the fitness regime he maintains, he may just look at this bout and think he could take on the winner.

That’d be particularly special for MMA fans if it happens, given that they waited years and years for GSP to fight Anderson in the Octagon - only for it to never materialise.

Either way, this bizarre once in a lifetime style of event is bound to have a few twists and turns this weekend.
